Nigerian Sentenced To Death In Malaysia Over Drug Peddling

A 36-year-old Nigerian, Alexis Zogbelemow was on Wednesday, January 6, given the death penalty by the the Shah Alam High Court for trafficking drugs about four years ago.


Alexis Zogbelemow has been sentenced to death for peddling drugs.

Zogbelemow, a rental car operator was sentenced by Judge Datuk Akhtar Tahir, after finding him guilty of the offence involving 824.1 grammes of Methamphetamine.














The judge ruled that Alexis’ defence statement was fabricated and merely a denial. Zogbelemow was caught in the main arrival hall of Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Sepang, on February 28, 2012.

In a related incident, the Malaysian high court has sentenced a Nigerian citizen to death for drugs trafficking. Ekene Collins Isaac, 37, was found guilty of smuggling 915.6g of methamphetamine, commonly known as ecstasy or MDMA, into Malaysia three years ago
