According to E24-7, elders in the church woke up on Thursday, January 7, to receive the news that fire had gutted the house of the head of Nigeria Diocese of the Celestial Church, Baba Are in his Ikorodu home.
The fire occurred in the early hours of Thursday, which was caused by a power surge. His wife, called Iya Salewa and his children, Dare and Kemi tried to escape the fire, but Baba Are who is suffering from a stroke which left him immobile was totally burnt beyond recognition by fire on his bed.
The octogenarian cleric until his death was the number three man in the Celestial Church’s hierarchy.
Meanwhile, a Celestial church pastor, Prophet Samson Olorunisola (alias Orun mi si), who is the Shepherd in charge of Jehovah Lass Parish, Powerline, Peace Estate, Ajasa-Command, Lagos, is cooling his heels at Panti police command for allegedly murdering a male member of his church.
Olorunisola was said to have hit the deceased, identified as Kehinde, on the head with a diabolic ring.
