Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate, Mr Nyesom Wike, has berated the All Progressives Congress, APC, for refusing to support the military following its successes in decimating Boko Haram in the North-East.
He said that the action of the opposition confirms widely held notion that it tacitly supports the terrorist group.
Wike, who spoke yesterday while campaigning at Wards 4, 5 and 6 of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state, said that the claim by APC leaders that they would end Boko Haram in two weeks indicates that they have contact with the dreaded group.
He said: “God has shamed APC by ensuring victory for the Nigerian military. The APC has refused to commend our military because they are not happy. President Goodluck Jonathan will be re-elected because he means well for the country and is committed to the unity of the country. It is in the interest of Nigeria and the South-South that President Jonathan is re-elected.”
On the APC presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, Wike said a man who truncated democracy as a young man cannot be a promoter of democracy at 73.
