AS the All Progressives Congress (APC) standard-bearer in Saturday’s presidential election, Major General Muhammadu Buhari, arrived Bauchi, the Bauchi State capital, on Tuesday, for the party’s North-East zonal rally, some supporters of the opposition party were involved in an auto accident in which four of them sustained varying degree of injuries.
The supporters were on their way from Yobe State to the zonal presidential campaign rally held at the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida Square in Bauchi metropolis.
The accident, according to a statement released and made available to newsmen by the Bauchi State Police Command’s Public Relations, Haruna Mohammed, happened at about 8:35a.m. at Dogon Rimi on the Bauchi-Maiduguri road.
The police image maker, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), stated that the bus in which the supporters were travelling hit a stationary Mercedes Benz lorry parked by the road side.
