Apart from the son, 3 other Boko Haram insurgents were arrested as they tried to enter the Pompomari IDP camp.
The arrest of the four Boko Haram suspects was disclosed on Sunday, by Musa Jidawa, Executive Secretary, Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).
He stated that this particular Boko Haram suspect had come to the camp where his father, mother, wife and child were residing.
Jidawa said: “A member of his Turo Kura village identified the suspect and raised an alarm, saying he belongs to the sect and the suspect’s father, also an IDP at the camp, confirmed it, which led to his arrest.”
The suspect’s father would later reveal to journalists that he fled his village, when his son plotted to have him killed. “I have nothing to do with him; he should be arrested and killed just like he killed others”, he said.
Furthermore, Jidawa said that two suspects disguised as visitors to see relatives at the camp while the other two were arrested while trying to enter the camp.
He said: “Security operatives and some IDPs screening entries and exit from the camp identified the suspects, who were later confirmed as insurgents by the IDPs from their communities.”
