JUST IN! Court Upholds Governor Ajimobi's Election

Reports reaching us have it that the election of Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state, has been upheld by the Oyo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.

According to The Nation, the tribunal has dismissed the petition filed by Senator Rashidi Ladoja, the governorship candidate of Accord part against the All Progressives Congress (APC) man.
The judgment read by Justice Mohammed Mayaki, who headed the three-man panel, confirmed that Ladoja and his party “failed woefully” to present evidences on the allegations of rigging, electoral malpractices, violence and non-compliance with the Electoral Act among others, beyond reasonable doubt.
The report informed also that the delivery which lasted for four and a half hours, resolved all the issues determined in favour of Ajimobi.
All evidences presented by all Ladoja’s witnesses, saying they were not specific to incidents as claimed as well as failed to prove the allegations beyond reasonable doubt, were also rejected by the tribunal.
This seems to be a season of tribunal decisions, as the recent development is just one of the many decisions taken by the courts.
