The admonitions ‘Politics shouldn’t be a do-or-die affair’, ‘vote not fight’ and many more have been over flogged. The popularity of these admonitions might have made it to lose its generic meanings to a lot of Nigerians as most people still engage in political violence.
There were quite a number of political clashes in Rivers state (and other parts of Nigeria) today. Here are some photos of some of the casualties in Rivers state below:
The All Progressives Congress and Peoples Democratic Party supporters clashed this morning in Kano. As the fight was on going, some of them rushed to where the ballot papers were and set them on fire, which automatically ended elections in that unit. This happened at the Karan Mata ward in Madobi Local Government.
Earlier today, a policewoman collapsed in a polling unit in Ogun State because of excessive heat.
