Sharia police seizes musical instruments used during Aminu Tambuwal daughter’s wedding
Sharia police in Sokoto state have detained musical instruments used during the wedding of the state governor Aminu Tambuwal’s daughter’s wedding.
The special police force that enforces Sharia practice in the North, Sokoto Hisbah Commission, has seized the musical instruments used during the pre-wedding dinner of Tambuwal’s daughter Aisha Aminu Waziri Tambuwal in the last week of December, 2016, for allegedly violating Shari'ah law being operated in the state.
The commandant of the Commission, Dr Adamu Bello Kasarawa who confirmed the development, said the commission had wanted to arrest the DJ that performed at the dinner but he escaped.
Kasarawa explained that the kind of music played at the dinner went against the Islamic rules and regulations the state operates. He said further that it was the commission’s responsibility to correct anything that works against Shari'ah law.
On a final note, Kasarawa said the musical instruments alongside other devices seized across the state would be destroyed.
Governor Tambuwal’s daughter Aisha got married to her beau Muhammad Dikko Dahiru Mangal on December 31, 2016 at a well-attended wedding in Sokoto state.
Aisha held her traditional Kamu ceremony on Thursday, December 29, 2016 and was had her friends and family members around her.
