The NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament is a single-elimination event played each spring in the United States, presently including 68 college basketball groups from the Division I degree of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), to establish the championship game. The tournament teams include champs from 32 Division I seminars (which receive automated quotes), and 36 groups which are awarded at-large berths. These "at-large" groups are chosen by an NCAA selection board, then introduced in a nationally telecasted event on the Sunday coming before the First Four play-in games, presently held in Dayton, Ohio, and also dubbed Selection Sunday. The 68 groups are split into 4 regions and also organized right into a single removal "bracket", which pre-determines, when a group wins a video game, which team it will encounter next. Each group is "seeded", or ranked, within its region from 1 to 16. After an initial 4 video games between 8 lower-ranked teams, the competition takes place throughout the course of 3 weekend breaks, at pre-selected neutral sites across the United States. Teams, seeded by rank, proceed through a single video game removal bracket beginning with a first round containing 64 groups, to a "Sweet Sixteen", and for the last weekend of the competition, a Final Four. The Final Four is usually played during the very first weekend break of April. These four teams, one from each region (East, South, Midwest, and West), compete in one place for the championship game.
