Super Eagles Captain, John Obi Mikel has been named captain of his new China Super League side, Tianjin TEDA and also handed the Number 10 jersey by Coach Jaime Pacheco.
The former Chelsea midfielder scored his first goal in the 36th minute for the club in his team’s 6-2 loss to St. Pauli over the weekend.
Although Tianjin TEDA lost 6-2 to German Bundesliga club St.Pauli, the Super Eagles captain made a mark.
His goal came off a header from a well delivered free kick.
The strike will come as huge surprise to many soccer enthusiasts considering the Nigerian’s appalling goal scoring record.
He managed just five strikes in over 10 years at Stamford Bridge.
