Armed men invaded the home council of President Goodluck Jonathan, Ogbia local government council and kidnapped the council chairman, Mr Enaye Sasime Abah.

A witness said it was like a scene from a mafia movie as the men armed with sophisticated weapons waylay Abah along Otuasega/ Okarki road and opened fire on his official vehicle, a spot utility vehicle .
Abah was said to be on his way to attend a stakeholders meeting on the need for a peaceful conduct of the aborted House of Assembly elections in the council.
It was gathered that the gunmen on sighting the council boss official vehicle, blocked the road but did not come out on seeing that his Police orderly wanted to come out.
The Police orderly was said to have come out of the car to investigate why the Mazda blocked the road and immediately the gunmen saw he was fast approaching them they opened fire, forcing the Police orderly to run into the bush.
The gunmen were said to have dragged Abah from his vehicle into the Mazda and moved towards to the waterside escaping with a speedboat.
“The armed men dragged the council Chairman from his vehicle and transferred him into a blue colored Mazda. They drove him away towards waterside. At the waterside, he was taken to a speedboat already stationed there. The driver of the Blue Mazda was shot in the leg for refusing to follow the gunmen and their victim into the waiting speedboat. The Mazda was later set ablaze by the armed men along the waterside and the number plate taken away,” the witness said.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Mr. Ansim Butwats confirmed the development and said preliminary investigations indicated that the gunmen took Abah to the Abua waterways in Rivers state.
