APC Crisis Is Internal And We Have No Hand In It - PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi state has denied having a hand in the crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

The PDP said it has no interest in the APC crisis, Vanguard reports.
According to Prince Bode Ogunmola, the state publicity secretary of the party, their problem was an internal one.
What is happening in APC is an internal problem. I am not a member of the party and PDP is not interested in the crisis. I think it is normal for anyone to attempt to be opportunistic by fighting for only 49,000 votes to become governor in an election where over 500,000 people voted.
“They are possibly looking at a window of opportunity in which whoever picks the party’s ticket for the supplementary poll becomes governor in their illusion.
“By asking APC to substitute its late candidate with the hope of transferring votes cast for one person to another is an issue for determination in court,” he said.
Ogunmola said the PDP was only concerned about pursuing its case through constitutional means and they will continue to honour the rule of law.
He added that they had already approached the law court for constitutional determination.
Prince Abubakar Audu, the APC governorship candidate in Kogi state died on Sunday after INEC declared the November 21 governorship election inconclusive. INEC asked the party to pick a replacement for Audu and after consultations the party chose Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
However, Faleke, who was the running mate to the late Audu, rejected the deputy governorship slot, saying he could not accept the offer to be Bello’s running mate because he was already governor-elect. He demanded that INEC declare him as governor-elect following the death of Audu.
