The All Progressives Congress, APC is currently the majority in the House of representatives as 7 members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP on Tuesday defected to other parties; PUNCH.
Three of the defectors joined the All Progressives Congress, two joined the Labour Party, while one switched camp to Accord party.
A total of 179 lawmakers are now in the APC, while the PDP has 162. Smaller parties share the remaining 19 members, making 360.
The defections are yet to affect the leadership positions in the house as Speaker Aminu Tambuwal has informed the house that matters relating to the change of leadership of the House were still before competent courts of jurisdiction, awaiting disposal.
