Rio Ferdinand reveals the hardest striker he faced for Manchester United
The former England captain has revealed the trickiest opponent he's directly faced and admits "he was the hardest to play against for a long time"

Rio Ferdinand insists Sergio Aguero is the best No.9 in the world and admits the Argentine was trickier to play against than Luis Suarez.

Both the Manchester City striker and Barcelona forward found the net in the games they played against Ferdinand, but the former Manchester United defender believes the Argentine’s ability to finish with either foot edges him ahead of the Uruguayan.

“For me now, at the moment, when he’s fit, Augero’s the best No.9 in terms of playing against, he’s a nightmare,” Ferdinand said in a motivational talk with England’s Under-19s which has been revealed by the FA.

“Because he’s small, stocky, strong, quick as well and will go both ways. He’ll go left and shoot with his left, or go right and shoot.

“Normally, like [Luis] Suarez, I’ll push him on his left all day long and say ‘go on’, because I know he’s going to cut back on his right.
