The party in a statement by its director general in Akure, Ayo Fadaka said the two defectors have started a journey to political irrelevance.
Fadaka said: “They have just began a journey into political irrelevance, and as such are bereft of any capability to injure the spread and influence of our Party in this state.
“We take very serious view of the action of these gentlemen and have since come to the conclusion that their action is absolutely propelled by personal goals which is dictated by their individual ambitions which cannot be achieved in the PDP.”
Meanwhile, the duo were welcomed into the APC fold.
Steve Otaloro, the director of media and publicity said their coming to the APC was a morale booster.
He commended them for their courage to join the change agenda.
Osunyikanmi was Mimiko’s personal assistant and commissioner for health under former governor, late Adebayo Adefarati, while Akinyelure was a senator representing Ondo central in the 7th National Assembly.
The pair, in a statement released in Ondo state on Sunday, said they dumped the PDP because they want to support the change agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration
