Bode George backs Dasuki, wants February elections postponed

imageA former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, has called for the postponement of the February general elections.

George is also backing the National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki, who had earlier spoke on the need for Nigeria to postpone the general elections to allow INEC distribute the PVCs.
The party chieftain, who made this call during a press conference at his Ikoyi, Lagos residence, said he was yet to collect his own PVC.
“The NSA must ensure that there is peace in the land; this will give INEC time to distribute the PVCs. I have no objection if it is done as the NSA has said.
“I don’t think they will postpone the elections till after May 29. His (NSA) fears are genuine because the collection of these PVCs is important.”
George further appealed to Nigerians to eschew ethnic and religious bigotry, noting that the peace of the country was paramount.
“This is our collective fight; this is our collective struggle. Enough of this charlatanism. Enough of this rampant fraud and lies. Enough of the unconscionable wastage of our treasury”, he added.
