In this photo, you can see a police officer whipping graduates looking for jobs at the immigration interview. How can I be a slave in my own country? How? If we are oppressed in our own nation, we must talk. I was reading Frederick Douglass' story yesterday and I absolutely agree that it is better to die fighting for your dignity and freedom than to remain on your knees before a slavemaster after all we will die anyway whether we fight or run away like cowards. If there is anybody you should bow down to and kneel down for, it should be your Creator and the last time I checked, it was not the president.
We deserve nothing but the very best in Nigeria, we have not offended anyone, we are a hardworking people full of pride and dignity and we must never allow some evil leaders turn us to slaves. We are so docile that many leaders have taken us for granted, we are so innocent-minded that even clerics have taken advantage of us. We are a good people and we deserve a lot better. Why should A be working and B will be doing all the eating? Why will a hardworking teacher be getting what is wardrobe allowance to a senator? Always speak out, you deserve the same good life people are living in Finland and Dubai, we are even far richer than these people, all we have to do is to identify those destroying this nation and shut them up forever and then ensure there is adherence to the rule of law and social justice. How can a civil servant labour all her life to educate a child and at the end of the day, the child still remains jobless at 35? Not because the child is lazy but because the opportunities are not just there. Many grownups are still under their parents when they should be the ones taking care of and pampering their parents. Tell me, if a civil servant grows to the age of 65 and her Pikin never get work, when the civil servant now enjoy the fruit of her labour? And when they steal pensions meant for the poor pensioners, the government does nothing. It is almost impossible for graduates to get a job if they don't know somebody at the top. Why should you know one stupid somebody at the top when you have met all the requirements? We cannot just keep quiet because we are being cheated! As for me, I have embarked on this mission and until Nigerians are respected at home and abroad, my task will continue, those shouting, Na dem go tire. I have been called all kind of names, accused of all sorts but my focus is as steady as ever, even the great Mandela was called a terrorist so I am not bothered. You deserve the good things too. If you work hard, you should enjoy well too, especially when your land has been so blessed and not live a life full of long decades of suffering, complaints, uncertainty, agony and pain.
