Election to choose new President of National Association of Nigerian Prostitutes end in violence in Lagos

The 2015 election of National Association of Nigerian Prostitutes, NANP, which held on Sunday in Lagos was marred by violence as a faction of the group rejected the poll results.

According to reports by Daily Post,an online newspaper, the election which took place at a popular “joint” along LASU-Iba Road, was won by the former secretary, Jessica Elvis.
Elvis reportedly got 300 votes, while the incumbent, Madam Felix Efoyo polled 153 votes. A third candidate, Tamar Tion, who is the Nasarawa state coordinator of the association got 63 votes.
The result was however rejected by the incumbent who said she was rigged out. Shortly after the 2015 electoral committee chairman, Franca ‘Top Up’ Chikam announced Elvis as the winner, the incumbent, Madam Efoyo rejected it and demanded for a fresh poll.
As a back and forth ensued, one of Madam Efoyo’s supporters broke a bottle and stabbed another member, leading to a brawl.
